    Despite canceling one third of its summer shows in America, Lilith Fair will head Down Under this fall for a quick Australian tour. Dubbed “A Taste of Lilith,” the tour will feature a scaled-down lineup and a slightly higher ticket price, with Sarah McLachlan, the Court Yard Hounds, and several Australian acts all scheduled to perform. A Taste of Lilith kicks off October 4th at the Enmore Theater in Sydney. [Variety.com]

    The ninth volume of Bob Dylan’s Bootleg Series will be released in early October. Subtitled The Whitmark Demos, the edition features more than 45 songs that Dylan recorded between 1962 and 1964 with only his acoustic guitar, harmonica, and piano. Early versions of “Blowin’ in the Wind,” “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall,” and “The Times They Are A-Changin’” are all included. [RollingStone.com]

    The Libertines will make their comeback this weekend at the Leeds and Reading festivals. In the meantime, fans can get their fix by watching new footage of the band rehearsing “Horrorshow,” which surfaced last week. [Spinner.com]

    Lady Gaga, who recently beat out President Obama to become the most befriended figure on Facebook, now boasts the digital honor of being the most followed face on Twitter. Her closest competition? Britney Spears, whpo trails Gaga’s 5,741,164 followers by slightly less than 40,000. [EW.com]

    Cure co-founder Lol Tolhurst would like to rejoin the band, having left the Cure’s lineup during the late 1980s due to a reported drinking problem. In an interview with L.A.’s KXLU radio station, the drummer explained that he recently contacted Robert Smith about reuniting the band’s founding lineup for another tour, during which they’d perform the 1981 album Faith in its entirety. “The ball is now in Robert’s court,” he explained.     While Glee gears up for its second season, Macy’s has launched a new clothing line inspired by the show’s attire. Fans have their choice of Glee-branded t-shirts, a “Don’t Stop Believing” hoodie, and even a Cheerios-styled cheerleading top. The clothing is targeted exclusively at young females, and prices range from $20 to $35. [Billboard.com]

    Ever complain about American Idol’s contestants singing out of key? Maybe you should be watching X Factor, whose season premiere is currently under fire for blatantly using Auto-Tune to pitch-correct its contestants’ vocals. Simon Cowell, who helped create the show, says the practice will be banned on future shows. [MTV.com]

    Stone PoneysOriginal member of the Stone Poneys and longtime Linda Ronstadt and Karla Bonoff collaborator Kenny Edwards died on Wednesday, August 19, according to a statement on his website. Earlier this month, Edwards collapsed in Denver while on tour with Bonoff; he was airlifted to a hospital near his home in Santa Barbara, CA, where he died. Edwards played with Bonoff’s group Bryndle and also worked with Stevie Nicks, Brian Wilson and Art Garfunkel. He was 64. [Billboard.com]

    Another concert tragedy: Charles Haddon, lead singer for British electro-pop band Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, jumped to his death on August 20th after a performing a set with his band at Belgium’s Pukklepop Festival. Haddon climbed a satellite mast in the parking lot and was found on the ground behind the festival’s main stage. Haddon was 22; police are treating his death as a suicide. [Metro.co.uk]

    The Fugees’ Wyclef Jean was declared ineligible to run for president of Haiti by the country’s electoral commission on Friday night. On Sunday, Jean wrote that he planned to appeal the decision on Twitter: “Tomorrow our Lawyers are appealing the decision of the CEP. We have met all the requirements set by the laws. And the law must be Respected.” In order to be a candidate, Jean must prove that he owns at least one real property in Haiti and that he has resided in the country for five consecutive years before the date of the elections.     Faith Evans was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence at a check point in Marina Del Ray, CA. In 2004, Evans was arrested in Atlanta, GA and charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana, for which she spent 13 weeks in rehab. [Examiner.com]

    Rock the Bells 2010 happened last weekend, and featured show-stopping performances from Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan and Lauryn Hill. VH1 recaps the highlights. [VH1.com]

    More details have emerged about Brian Eno’s upcoming album for Warp Records. Small Craft on a Milk Sea will hit stores in November and features collaborations with Jon Hopkins and Leo Abrahams. A deluxe version of the album will feature the album on CD, vinyl, and download; a bonus CD with four extra tracks; a square silkscreen print by Eno and a copper plate etched with the title and edition number in the slipcase spine.     Kanye West plans to release a new song every Friday for the rest of 2010 until Christmas. West announced via Twitter, “I'm calling it good Fridays. Yall know every Friday yall gone have a new joint from our family. We look at the game completely different now.” His album Dark Twisted Fantasy is due November 16. [Idolator.com]

    Get ready for a whole lot of Orange Juice: Coals to Newcastle, a seven-disc career retrospective of the band, will be released this November and will feature their six studio albums plus 16 previously unreleased tracks and a collection of their BBC sessions. [Gigwise.com]

    Director Jim Jarmusch will helm a documentary about Iggy Pop among his many projects, which include curating New York’s upcoming All Tomorrow’s Parties festival. Jarmusch said, “It’s something Iggy [Pop] asked me to do … It’s going to take a few years though. There’s no rush on it.” [NME.com]
