Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper Bruno Mars was officially charged with felony drug possession on Friday October 1, two weeks after he was arrested in Las Vegas for allegedly carrying cocaine. Mars was apprehended in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s restroom by hotel security and was accused of having 2.6 grams of cocaine on him at the time of arrest. If this is his first offense, he may get a year of probation for having a controlled substance in his possession, but if he is a repeat offender, he could get up to a four-year prison sentence. Mars’ debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans is out Tuesday. [Idolator.com] Wynton Marsalis jammed with Cuban jazz legends Chucho Valdes and Omara Portuondo in Havana over the weekend in preparation for an upcoming concert series with Marsalis’ Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. The series, which begins Tuesday and ends Saturday, marks the first time the Orchestra has played in Cuba and will also feature master classes for young Cuban musicians.
