Buddy MorrowTrombonist and Bandleader Buddy Morrow died on September 27th. He was 91. Best known for leading the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra since 1977, Morrow also led his own band during the ’50s and scored a hit with his cover of “Night Train.” A longtime studio musician and member of NBC’s Tonight Show Orchestra, Morrow’s commitment to big band music during the ’70s and ’80s helped revive interest in the genre. • Video of the Day: Jeremy Messersmith – Tatooine

George Lucas can remake the Star Wars trilogy in 3D, HD, ADD, or have it imprinted directly on your brain, but he’s unlikely to make the story any more poignant than Jeremy Messersmith and Eric Power have. The duo made this sweet video and song that retells the Original Trilogy in about two minutes using construction paper. Power did the visuals; Messersmith sings the tune. It makes me want to check out his recent album, The Reluctant Graveyard, to see if there are any more lovely songs like this lurking about. Also, make sure you go to Power’s site to see the other super cool stuff he’s done. Watch it now before Lucas slaps them with a C&D order!
