The surviving members of Buffalo Springfield — Neil Young, Stephen Stills, and Richie Furay — will reform after 42 years to play two charity concerts in California. The performances will be part of October’s Bridge School Benefit, which raises money for children with severe speech and physical impediments. Pearl Jam, Elvis Costello, Modest Mouse, Grizzly Bear, Billy Idol, Lucinda Williams, and Jackson Browne are also on the bill. [NME.com]Bob Marley’s family members have lost a battle with UMG over the rights to some of his most famous recordings. The charges were brought forth by Rita Marley and several of Bob’s children, who claimed that UMG purposely withheld royalties from them and failed to consult the family before licensing them as ringtones to AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. George Michael is no stranger to the courtroom, although he has managed to avoid the jail cell. The 47 year-old singer’s luck ran out this week, though, when a judge sentenced him to four weeks in prison and four weeks under supervision after pleading guilty to driving under the influence. Michael, who admitted in a 2009 interview that he smokes “seven to eight spliffs a day on average,” drove his car into a London storefront in July after getting stoned at the city’s annual gay pride parade.
